Program Schedule:   

Friday July 12, 2024 - Total knee replacement—pain and function
Time: 1:30pm-3pm

Session description:  Mobility and stability are important for daily and sport specific movements. What happens when someone lacks mobility or has too much? This session will delve into the science, providing you with the science to learn, assess and apply. Learn about fascia, trigger points, adaptive shortening all affect movement. You will literally leave with a new set of tools in your toolbox affecting client’s mobility and stability.

Objectives:

  • Identify what fascia is, its role and why fascial dysfunction occurs!

  • Identify the difference between mobility and stability as it relates to movement

  • Identify why the ankle and hip require mobility to move

  • Identify why the knee and lumbopelvic junction require stability

  • Perform mobility exercises with a variety of exercise tools such as mobility balls, stretch straps and more to improve mobility of soft tissue

  • Perform stability exercises for the entire chain challenging you

Saturday July 13, 2024- Mobility and stability; why we need it

Time: 1:30pm-3pm

Session description: Per the research, more Americans are undergoing knee replacements due to chronic pain. Can this be prevented? This session will delve into what knee osteoarthritis is and how it affects the patellofemoral joint. Learn how to develop an exercise program for a client with knee osteoarthritis or total knee replacement yielding safe results.

Objectives:

  • Identify the pathology of what knee osteoarthritis and why someone undergoes surgery

  • Identify and understand the surgical process and rehab for a total knee replacement

  • Identify what causes impingement syndrome and how to prevent it from developing

  • Develop an exercise regiment that is safe and yields results for knee OA and TKR

  • Perform both static and dynamic exercises that are specific to helping a client with knee osteoarthritis and/or total knee replacement

Bio: Chris is the CEO of Pinnacle Training & Consulting Systems, LLC, a continuing education and consulting company. Chris uniquely has 23 years of strong clinical experience as a physical therapist and 23 years working as a personal trainer. He has taught seminars and conferences for the past 15 years on a multitude of topics.
